About Stella & Chewy's

In 1997, Marie Moody adopted a dog named Stella from a local animal shelter. Shortly after, Marie decided that Stella needed a companion and she adopted a sick pup named Chewy who quickly joined the family and helped write the company?s history. To help with his health issues, Marie took the advice of a veterinarian and began feeding Chewy a raw diet. He quickly recovered and both he and Stella thrived on their new food, leading Marie to pursue her passion for pet nutrition and start her own business ? Stella & Chewy?s.In 2003, Stella & Chewy?s started in a small kitchen in Marie?s 600 square foot, one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, New York with one tiny freezer and two dogs. Our kitchen and capacity have grown rapidly since and we currently operate our main facility out of Oak Creek, Wisconsin.While Stella & Chewy?s started as an exclusively raw pet food brand, we have responsibly expanded beyond raw diets over the years.
